How to Care for Microcement: The Complete Maintenance Guide

Microcement is one of the most durable architectural finishes available — when it is maintained correctly. Neglect the sealer, use the wrong cleaning products, or ignore the early signs of wear, and a premium installation will deteriorate faster than it should.

The Sealer Is Everything

Daily Cleaning

Use a pH-neutral floor cleaner diluted in warm water. Avoid bleach, ammonia, acidic cleaners, abrasive scrubbing pads, and steam cleaners — these attack the sealer and will progressively degrade it.

Floors in high-traffic areas: reseal every 2–3 years. Bathroom floors and shower walls: reseal every 3–4 years. Feature walls and low-traffic surfaces: reseal every 5–7 years.
